Tickets on sale for ‘The Comedy of Errors’; volunteer positions and sponsorships still available

The Comedy of Errors, William Shakespeare's wild and eventful play about two sets of identical twins and their hilarious mishaps, will appear on the stage of Fayetteville's Villages Amphitheater, 301 LaFayette Avenue, on June 11, 12, 13, 17, 20, 25, 26 and 27.

Produced by Offshoot Productions with a professional cast augmented by apprentice actors, this outdoor show promises to be a light and frothy introduction to summer.

Grants from the Endowment Committee for the Cultural Arts of Fayette County and the Grassroots Program of the Georgia Council for the Arts enable Offshoot to offer surprisingly low ticket prices: only $5 general admission. Children ten and under may attend for free! Tickets are now on sale at the Peachtree City Library, 201 Willowbend Road, (770) 631-2520; the Fayette County Library, 1821 Heritage Parkway, (770) 461-8841; and Fayetteville City Hall, 240 S. Glyn Street, (770) 461-6029.

Offshoot is still accepting sponsorships and program advertising to help cover the costs of set, costumes, props and other theatrical necessities. "We're delighted to be able to offer professional theatrical entertainment for less than the cost of a movie ticket," said Offshoot producing artistic director Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D. "Still, there are basic expenses entailed in producing quality performances that need to be met."

Ushers and other volunteer positions are available. Volunteers get to see the show for free.

For additional information about the show, advertising or volunteer positions, call the Offshoot office at (770) 631-2362 or send e-mail to offshootpr@aol.com.
