Summer schedule set for graduation test

The Fayette County Board of Education will administer the Georgia High School Graduation Test in all areas this summer.

This administration is for students who failed or missed any portion of the testing sequence and 12th-grade students new to Georgia schools as of June 1. Eligible students may register in person at the summer school program at Starr’s Mill High, 193 Panther Path, Fayetteville.

Students who need to take the writing test and/or content areas must register to take the tests. The registration deadline for the writing exam is July 10; the deadline for all other exams is July 12.

All exams will take place at the LaFayette Educational Center, Bldg. D. Students should arrive by 8 a.m. at the exam location. Students who arrive after testing has begun will not be permitted to take the exam.

Students must bring the following to the exam:

• All students will be required to present a picture ID on the test dates.

• Students taking the writing test will need to bring two #2 pencils and a black pen.

• All students will need to bring two #2 pencils with them each day for the subject tests.

• Students taking math and/or science exams should bring a calculator.

The exam schedule and registration deadlines are as follows:

• Writing — July 14, 8:30 a.m.

• Social studies — July 19, 8:30 a.m.

• Math — July 20, 8:30 a.m.

• Science — July 21, 8:30 a.m.

• Language arts — July 22, 2004, 8:30 a.m.
