Stevens signs with FSU

Starr’s Mill senior Brittany Stevens received a scholarship to attend and swim at Florida State University. Stevens, a four-time state qualifier for the Panthers, has made the state finals all four years and was team captain this year.

Coach J.B. Campbell stated that Stevens was the school’s first swimmer to receive a scholarship to a Division 1 school. “She was the backbone of this team,” said Campbell. Jamey Myers, the coach of the Southern Crescent Aquatic Team, also present at her signing, spoke glowingly of Stevens.

“She has set numerous team records and undoubtedly will make the nationals one day. Her worst mood is still smiling. She will be missed.” Stevens is pictured with her parents, Rose Ann Stevens and David Stevens. Photo/Michael Boylan.
