Louise Sprinkle Garner

Louise Sprinkle Garner, 82, Villa Rica, died April 28, 2004. She was born June 29, 1921 in College Park, daughter of Harvey and Julia Ellen Kuhns Sprinkle. She worked as a secretary for over 40 years and was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels Program in Douglasville for over 20 years. She was a member of Powell Chapel United Methodist Church in Villa Rica. Services were at the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home chapel, Douglasville. Survivors include her husband, whom she married Jan. 3, 1941, Clarence Woodrow Garner, Villa Rica; a daughter, Patricia and Seth Osborn, Fayetteville; a sister, Ruth Moore, Winston; grandchildren, Michael Osburn and Kristi Osburn Guice; and a nephew, Phil Brown. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 1925 Century Blvd., NE, Site 10, Atlanta, GA 30345-3315. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, was in charge.

Linda Nedrel Peacock

Linda Nedrel Peacock, 59, Fayetteville died May 1, 2004. She was born Dec. 16, 1944 in Jackson, Butts County, Ga. She was active in the Fayetteville Bosom Buddies of Georgia. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Alan Parker officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include her husband, Tom Peacock, Fayetteville; daughters, Rachel Peacock and Tavi Peacock, both of Fayetteville; brothers, Kenneth Jones, Jenkinsburg, and Perry Jones, High Falls; and sisters, Jean Hodge, and Diane Mershon and Deborah Jones, both of Stockbridge. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

Anthony Adetola Tuoyo

Anthony Adetola “Tony” Tuoyo, 49, Fayetteville, died May 2, 2004. He was born Sept. 6, 1954 in Nigeria, moving to America in 1979. He was graduated from Cal State University of Dominquez with a bachelor’s degree in Economics in 1982. He received his master’s degree in Finance in 1984 from Cal State University of Long Beach. He owned and operated ANCET Auto Sales and was president of Itsekiri Nigeria Association of Georgia. He was killed in a one-car accident on I-285. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. John Lachana officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife, Janina Tuoyo, Fayetteville; sons, Andre Tuoyo, Cedrick Tuoyo, and Justin Tuoyo, all of Fayetteville; father, Richard Tuoyo, Nigeria; brothers, Peter Tuoyo, Rex, Felix Tuoyo, Riverdale, and Philip Tuoyo, Long Beach, Calif.; sisters, Anna Tuoyo, and Christy Tuoyo-Eka, both of Paris, France; and nine other siblings. Helen McElwaney Dettmering

Helen McElwaney Dettmering, 80, Fayetteville, died May 2, 2004. She was born May 7, 1923 in Fayette County, daughter of K. W. and Nora Lee Bearden McElwaney Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, William O’Neal Dettmering Sr. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Don Harp officiating. Interment was at Fayetteville City Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Neal and Jerri Dettmering, Douglasville; a daughter, Henrietta and Charles Jerol, Cumming; grandsons, Trey and Elizabeth Dettmering, Douglasville, and David Dettmering, Savannah; great-grandchildren, Isabelle Dettmering, and Olivia Dettmering, both of Douglasville; and a sister, Charlotte Whitaker, Clearwater, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Neal and Helen Dettmering Scholarship Fund, in care of Regions Bank, Douglasville, GA 30134. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

Remell W. Chason

Remell W. Chason, 79, Jonesboro, died May 1, 2004. She was born May 2, 1924 in Leon County, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Chason, and sons, Buck “Maxie” Chason and Sam Chason. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. David Hammonds and the Rev. Elmer Stephens officiating. Interment was at Corinth Baptist Church cemetery, Fayetteville. Survivors include children, Katie Goodman, Fayetteville, JoAnn Fisher, Haralson, Lois Johnson, Atlanta, Lloyd Chason, Griffin, and Christine Chason, Jonesboro; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Janet Rowland Harmon

Janet Rowland Harmon, 81, Fayetteville, died May 3, 2004. She was born Oct. 3, 1922 in Montezuma, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris J. Harmon. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Tom Daugherty officiating. Interment was at College Park Cemetery. Survivors include sons, Jimmy Harmon, Powder Springs, and Bill and Darlene Harmon, Ellijay; daughters, Elaine and Tommy Harris, Riverdale, Cheryl and Peiter Louws, Silver Lake, Wash., and Melody and Rick Calhoun, Fayetteville; 21 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. James M. Jones Jr.

James M. “Jim” Jones Jr., 80, Fayetteville, died May 5, 2004. He was born June 6, 1923 in Marshallville, Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francya Sutherland Jones. Graveside services were at Westminster Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Pam and Don Morris, Fayetteville; a stepdaughter, Kay Crawford, Clanton, Ala.; half-sisters, Louise Taylor, Pooler, Ga., and Jane Naugle, Cochran, Ga.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
