The Fayette County Civitans would like you to lace up your running shoes, because it’s that time again, time for the 12th Annual Old Courthouse 5K Road Race.

The race begins Saturday, May 15, at 8 a.m. behind the old courthouse on the square. It is being held in conjunction with the 32nd Annual Old Courthouse Art Show. Registration begins at 7 a.m.

Proceeds from the race go back to community assistance organizations, including the Joseph Sams School, the High hope Group Home and Fayette County Special Olympics.

All registrants will receive a heavy 100 percent cotton T-shirt with an original artwork designed by Ed and Patsy Gullett.

All race finishers will be in a drawing for door prizes furnished directly some of Civitans corporate sponsors. Those in the past have included Chick-fil-A, Classic World Travel and Home Depot.

Overall male and female winners will receive a etched-glass trophy, which is mounted on a finished wooden base. First and second place, male and female runners in each age group, will received etched-glass medallions with ribbons.

To download a printable registration form, go to www.clarksystems.com/oldcourhouse5K.htm or call Darryl Douglass at 770-863-1794.
