FCH celebrates employeesThere is no better time of year to show appreciation to hospital employees than National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and National Hospital Week (May 9-15). Fayette Community Hospital is recognizing its outstanding healthcare workers by hosting various appreciation activities during this time. Just as we depend on medicine and technology, we rely on the abilities of our people to bring the power of care to our organization, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week celebrations pay tribute to ever-present forces. National Nurses Week is devoted to highlighting the diverse ways in which registered nurses, the largest health care profession, are working to improve health care. From bedside nursing in hospitals and long-term care facilities to the halls of research institutions, state legislatures, and Congress, the depth and breadth of the nursing profession is meeting the expanding health care needs of American society. Hospitals are always so busy that we sometimes dont have time to say a simple thank you to our employees for their efforts, said Darrell Cutts, CEO of Fayette Community Hospital. This is one way of letting them know we appreciate the high quality of care they provide for patients and the community. The following activities are taking place May 6 - 15: The Fayette Community Hospital physicians are sponsoring an ice cream social, which the management team will serve ice cream to all staff. A Vendor Day for nursing staff, which will be a day of staff educational programs. There will be a variety of rewards and recognitions given for all staff throughout the organization. Fayette Community Hospital is a 100-bed acute care community hospital in Fayetteville, offering 24-hour emergency services, medical and surgical services, as well as diagnostic and rehabilitation services. With over 800 employees and a medical staff of more than 350 physicians, FCH is a private, not-for-profit organization and a subsidiary of Piedmont Medical Center, which includes Piedmont Hospital, a 500-bed acute tertiary care facility in the north Atlanta community of Buckhead; Piedmont Clinic, a 444-member physician network; and the Piedmont Physicians Group, a 54-member primary care physician group with 15 offices throughout metro Atlanta.
