Bowra Named 2004-2005 Baxter-Bryan Scholarship Recipient

Meghan Bowra, a fashion merchandising junior from Fayetteville is the recipient of the prestigious Baxter-Bryan Scholarship at the Women’s College of Brenau University. The scholarship provides Bowra full room, board and tuition for her senior year at Brenau.

A Baxter-Bryan Scholarship nominee must be a rising senior, have one of the highest grade point averages in her class, and be a campus leader and volunteer for the community. She also must represent Brenau when called on during her senior year, have excellent written and verbal skills, and have no disciplinary record while at Brenau.

The scholarship fund, presented to Brenau in November of 1990, was provided by the estate of Joe Baxter in memory of his sister, the late Carfax Baxter, a 1904 Brenau Women’s College graduate, and his friend, the late Morris Bryan Jr., a former member of the Brenau board of trustees.

Brenau University offers more than 30 baccalaureate and graduate programs with liberal arts foundations. Brenau University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor’s, master’s and the specialist in education degrees.
