Whitewater JV girls soccer team finishes successful season

In its first year as a school, Whitewater High has given students and their parents and fans something to look forward to. Many of the athletic teams surpassed expectations this year, playing junior varisty schedules with teams made up entirely of freshmen. The JV girls soccer team was no exception, going 9-2-4 and playing extremely well against teams that will be region opponents next year.

The Lady Wildcats, coached by Heather Allen, got a number of big wins over region opponents, including a 15-0 win over Pebblebrook, a 7-0 win over Alexander, and 9-0 wins over Sandy Creek and Lithia Springs. The team also defeated both Henry County and LaGrange 10-0. Though the team fell to Newnan, 2-0 and Chapel Hill, 3-1, the Lady Wildcats can hang their hats on three ties with McIntosh and one with Fayette County.

“We had a great season overall and I am looking forward to working with these girls for the next four years,” said Allen, who was assisted by Laura Thompson.

The team this year consisted of Elizabeth McLaughlin, Claire Huff, Pamela Carmolingo, Kaitlyn McElhinney, Emily Davis, Shae Bedford, Christina Easterbrook, Stephanie Davis, Lizzie Spratt, Caitlin Carlton, Allison Fannin, Jessica Irwin, Brittany Johnson, Kayla Emerson, Kayla Stillions and Lisa Wilson.
