Bethany UMC will get new minister in June

The Rev. Dr. Mark Outlaw, presently the minister at Bethany United Methodist Church in north Fayette County, will move to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church near Ola in Henry County next month. The move comes as a part of the North Georgia United Methodist Conference’s annual church reappointments.

Replacing Outlaw at Bethany will be the Rev. Dr. David Brackman, formerly pastor at Monticello First UMC. Brackman also has served at Trinity UMC, Moreland UMC, Fayetteville First UMC (associate pastor), Menlo-Bethel UMC and New Hope UMC in Clayton County.

Brackman served as associate pastor at Fayetteville (1988-1994) when Outlaw’s father was senior pastor there.

Brackman and his wife, Jeane, have two children. He will officially assume duties at Bethany on June 22.
