Seay to speak to Dem. women Sat.State Sen. Valencia Seay will headline the Fayette Democratic Womens May breakfast meeting, scheduled for this Saturday at Right on Thyme restaurant in Fayetteville. Seay is seeking re-election to a second term in the Georgia State Senate. She currently represents Georgias 34th district, and a portion of Fayette County will be covered in her redistricted map. Prior to her election as state senator, Seay served one term in the Georgia House of Representatives and several years on the Clayton County Board of Education. Additionally, she was appointed to the Georgia School Board Association Federal Relation Network, the Georgia School Board Association Ethics Committee, and as Vice President of the Clayton County Board of Education. In addition to serving in the Senate, Seay serves as President/CEO of Seay & Associates. She is retired from a 22-year-long career in the banking industry. Seay is also active in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, National Council of Negro Women, Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, and National Organization for Women Legislators, Women in Government, Women Legislative Caucus, and the Georgia Association for Black Elected Officials. Seay is a graduate of the Flemming Fellows Leadership Institute, Clayton College and State University, and DeKalb College. When not active in legislative issues and community affairs, Senator Seay spends time with her husband, two children, and one grandson. The Fayette Democratic Women meet monthly at Right on Thyme restaurant in Fayetteville.
