Rose Rodeo set for SaturdayBy CAROLYN CARY The Fayette Metro Kiwanis is hosting its annual Rose Rodeo this Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at Andys Nursery South. There will be hybrid teas, floribunda and antique roses available as well as disease resistant, repeat blooming roses, and old fashioned heirloom types are offered at substantial discounts. Net proceeds will go to the Metro Kiwanis and distributed among 20 nonprofits in Fayette County. Mothers Day is just around the corner and a beautiful rose plant would be the perfect gift, said Kiwanis President Sharon Cummings. A seminar will be given by the Fayette County Rose Society. The Fayette Metro Kiwanis meet each Tuesday at noon at IHOP in Fayetteville. Andys Nursery II is at 1120 Highway 85 South in Fayetteville. |
