Auto dealer’s commitment nets $12K for local foster children

Gene Evans Ford has come through for Fayette Youth Protection Homes, Inc., in a big way.

The company has donated $12,900 to the group which operates two group homes for foster children in Fayette County. The check, given by company president Gene Evans, represents $50 that was promised for each new car and truck sold during the month of March.

“March was a successful month for us and we are excited to share our success with such a worthy cause,” Evans said. “Our customers were pleased to know that a donation in their honor was going to support the abused or neglected children in our community.”

Ross Berry, president of Fayette Youth Protection Homes Inc. said the organization was very appreciative of Evans’ efforts.

“Gene Evans Ford’s generous donation will help change children’s lives,” Berry said. “We couldn’t operate without the generosity of organizations like Gene Evans Ford, its employees and customers.”

Fayette Youth Projection Homes, Inc., is comprised of the two houses known as the Friday and Johnson Homes which were established in 1986 to provide a loving home environment for children who are victims of abuse or neglect.
