Krehbiel sets CCSU recordClayton State sophomore Heather Krehbiel of Peachtree City set a school mark in the 3000-meter run at last Saturdays Alabama-Huntsville/Alabama A&M Invitataional. Krehbiel placed fifth in the race with a time of 10:44.79, breaking the school mark by three seconds. Junior Beatrice Wade of Fairburn, GA broke her own school record in the 400-meter hurdles to place sixth with a time of 1:13.76. The Clayton State women placed seventh in the meet and, in addition to Krehbiel and Wades record-setting performances, had top finishes from junior Aletha Binion of Carrollton, sophomore Lindsey Heuther of Smyrna, sophomore Melissa Shaw of Morrow and senior Penny Tinker of Mesa, Ariz.Binion placed third in the discus with a throw of 108-2, while Heuther finished third in the shot put with a toss of 32-3. Shaw finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.44 and Wade placed fifth in the triple jump at 32-10. Tinker and Shaw finished sixth and seventh respectively in the 1500-meter run with times of 4:54.15 and 4:55.34. Wade placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.76 and Heuther finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 95-7. Clayton State will return to the track Saturday for the Samford Twilight meet in Birmingham, Ala. |
