ObituariesJenell Hogan Rutland Jenell Cissy Hogan Rutland, 84, Peachtree City, died April 7, 2004. She was born June 28, 1919 in Hickory Valley, Hardeman County, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton L. Rutland in 1989. They had owned and operated Memphis Casket Company. She was a charter member of Graceland Baptist Church, Whitehaven, Tenn. It later became Gracewood Baptist Church, Southhaven, Miss. Services were at Canale Funeral Home, Memphis. Survivors include a son, David P. Rutland, Nashville, Tenn; daughters, Kay Rutland Gorman, Peachtree City, and Jill Rutland Smith, Memphis; a niece, Linda F. Clowes, whom she helped rear, and Jenells sister, Erline Fahr Simonton, both of Cordovo, Tenn; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge. Lillian M. Gunnin Lillian M. Gunnin, 94, Fayetteville, died April 9, 2004. She was born Sept. 19, 1909 in Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Chester L. Gunnin Sr. Services were at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home chapel with Minister Wendell Baggett and Mrs. Marty Lee officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. She was graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Atlanta, and was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bruce Reed Sr. Services were at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Jimmy Adams officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include sons, Bruce and Joyce Reed, Kennesaw, and Ron and Marie Reed, Leesville, S. C.; a daughter, Karen and Trippe Brown, Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. David Wayne Braziel-Schwerniner David Wayne Braziel-Schwerniner, Airman Apprentice, United States Navy, died April 11, 2004. He was born April 15, 1984 in Houston, Texas. He was a 2002 graduate of Fayette County High School and was currently stationed aboard the U. S. S. Kennedy, Jacksonville, Fla. Memorial services were at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Fayetteville. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, with full military honors. Phillip Allen DeCook Phillip Allen DeCook, 56, Fayetteville, died April 11, 2004. He was born Feb. 7, 1948 in Newark, N. Y., son of the late Phillip Augustus and Allene Glenn De Cook. He served in the United States Calvary from 1966 through 1972, earning many medals including the Purple Heart with the 3rd Squadron, 5th United States Calvary during the Vietnam War. He was a Brother in Arms and a member of the Black Knights, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. His interests included photography, diving, fishing, woodworking, lapidary, and military model building. Services were at the Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. He was retired as a lead mechanic at Northwest Airlines, an Air Force veteran, and an accomplished pilot. Graveside services were at the Brooks Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Clay Edge officiating.
