College Park woman wanted for bank fraud in PTCBy JOHN MUNFORD Peachtree City police have identified a College Park woman as the suspect in an identity fraud case reported at a local bank. Stephanie Daniel, 28, is wanted for one felony count each of financial identity fraud and deposit account fraud, police said. She had not been arrested by Tuesday afternoon when The Citizen went to press. Daniel was identified by detectives who spent three weeks investigating the $9,500 fraud case at Southern Federal Credit Union, police said. Daniel allegedly opened a fraudulent bank account using a fictitious California identification card and two fraudulent income tax refund checks for over $110,000 at the bank's branch in Morrow. Additional charges are expected as the department has notified police in Fayetteville, Griffin and Clayton County where other transactions and withdrawals occurred, police said. Federal authorities have also been notified, according to police. |
