Moore wins at SenoiaIn the Georgia Asphalt Series 100-lap event, Fredrick Moore established the fastest time in qualifying with a 14.177-second lap; Moore then rolled a two on the dice placing his number 19 machine on the outside of the front row. This advanced the second fastest qualifier, Roger Delp, to the pole position for the start of the second installment of the new and exciting Georgia Asphalt Series. When the green flag waved, Delp and Moore battled door-to-door to lead the first lap. By the second lap, Moore had nosed by Delp and took over the lead, Moore was followed by: Delp, Bubba Pollard and Scotty Ellis. Moore, who won the first installment of the GAS Series March 20, set about placing some distance between himself and Delp. However, Delp, Pollard and Ellis, like Moore, ran a very consistent race and maintained a fast pace to keep themselves in contention for the win. The top spots would remain the same as Senoia Speedway veteran Ronnie Sanders nosed his way into the fifth place position and began to challenge Ellis for the fourth place position. Lap-after-lap Sanders would place the nose of his machine on the inside of Ellis' as the two competitors blasted out of the corners and down the straight-aways. Each time, Ellis would battle back to maintain the position, while the savvy veteran Sanders made Ellis earn the position. As the race entered the final 10 laps, Moore continued to run a consistent pace, and went on to take the win, followed by: Delp, Pollard, Ellis and Sanders. In the Sportsman 30-lap event, Jody Cash celebrated his first career racing victory piloting the only Dodge entry. Andy Cash started the race from the pole with Jody joining him on the front row. When the green flag waved, Andy Cash jumped out to an early lead, followed by: Jody, Trey White and Larry Pierce, Sr. On lap eight, Jody Cash nosed by Andy to take over the top spot. Jody Cash would hold off the consistent challenge by Andy and take his first victory at Senoia Speedway. In the Larry's New & Used Tire's Modified Street Stock 25-lap event, Sammy Short, who was involved in a serious incident in last week's 50-lap special when his drive shaft broke as he charged down the front straight-away, returned this week with his machine in good order and a renewed determination to race and win. When the green flag waved, Short jumped out to an early lead and maintained the top spot for the entirety of the event. When the checkered flag waved, the top five running order was: Short, Steve Barker, Jason Turner and Larry Pierce, Sr. In the Aaron's 25-lap event, Terry Mathis battled his way up through the field after starting in the sixth place position to take the win, followed by: Trent Mayo, Kyle Mitchell, Jonathan Chandler and Larry Drawhorn. In the Bandolero 15-lap event, another impressive line-up of Bandolero machines congregated at Senoia Speedway prepared to do battle. Tina Johnson led the event from flag-to-flag, while Vince Ponder and Bre Sharp applied constant pressure for the lead. Johnson went on to take the win, followed by: Ponder, Sharp, Darrell Banks and Casey Roderick. In the Legends Pro 25-lap event, Shaun Fitzgerald started the event from the pole, joined by Jeremy Kalina on the front row. Fitzgerald would led the caution filled event up until lap 14 when Kalina took over the top spot. However, as the driver's logged the final five lap's, Fitzgerald battled back to take the win, followed by: Kalina, Beau Slocumb, Jeff Haynie and Virgil Brown. In the 25-lap Legends event, Eric Simpson would hold off Casey Tate to take his first win of the season at Senoia Speedway, followed by Tate, Aaron Brooks, Chris Cable and John William Lee.
