Errors hamper Chiefs in game against Indians

“Brendan pitched well for us and kept us in the game,” said Black. “We made three errors in the first inning though which led to five runs.” Hall was pulled in the third inning because he had thrown too many pitches. He was replaced by Zack Fallon.

Drew Grant led the offense, going four for four at the plate with a single, two doubles and a home run. Trevor Pippen added a two-run home run and Joe Pero was also cited by Black for a good night on offense.

Black stated that the East Coweta team looked similar to last year’s squad, a team capable of producing runs in any inning. Black felt the Chiefs matched them well offensively but gave up too many unearned runs in the loss.

The Chiefs will travel down the road Friday night to take on Starr’s Mill. It is a pivotal game for McIntosh as they are one game behind the Panthers in the region standings. The Chiefs won the first meeting with Starr’s Mill this year and would have the same record with a head to head advantage with a win. Ryan Schwartz will take the mound for McIntosh Friday. The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
