Medical Center additions help women

South Fulton Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of two new labor and delivery rooms in its women’s center.

“With a 23 percent increase of deliveries at South Fulton Medical Center in 2003, plus a steady growth in our service area, the two additional labor and delivery rooms were a necessity to accommodate the growth of the community and better ensure patient satisfaction,” said Christopher Hummer, South Fulton Medical Center CEO.

Each labor and delivery room is equipped with an infant warmer & crib, hardwood floors, reclining chairs and television which includes dedicated “New Mommy” programming.

This is the latest of many improvements and additions at South Fulton Medical Center, which include the opening of a nurses’ lounge, new educational women’s center classes, a new sleep lab, and the renovation of its gastrointestinal diagnostic unit. Additionally, the hospital’s $8.5 million emergency department expansion is on target to open in August.
