Get ready to spot birds in Peachtree City

Join Fayette County residents on a fun and informative Spring Bird Walk hosted by Southern Conservation Trust (SCT), to be held on April 17th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., spring weather permitting.

David Cree, an Audubon bird expert, will lead the nature walk on the Flat Creek Boardwalk and the connecting cart path. He explained, “Each year around tax season Fayette residents can spy birds representing several hundred different species as they travel from the Gulf to summer breeding grounds in the northern U.S. and Canada. We hope to see many colorful birds such as Baltimore Orioles and indigo buntings.”

SCT invites participants of all ages to bring binoculars and meet at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 17th next to the Flat Creek Nature Center on McIntosh Trail which is adjacent to the amphitheater in Peachtree City.

Southern Conservation Trust (SCT) is a Peachtree City-based land trust that owns and manages over 600 acres of environmentally sensitive land in Fayette County. SCT hosts environmental programs and partners with community groups to enhance its nature preserves with trails, overlooks and re-introduction of native species.
