Pinehurst residents gaining access to Heron Bay amenities

With their home purchases, residents of Brayson Homes’ Pinehurst neighborhood in Heron Bay gained the opportunity to live in a country club community at an affordable price and can now begin enjoying those amenities as they are completed.

Heron Bay Golf & Country Club, Minerva Properties’ 1,150-acre resort styled master planned community which stretches across the Henry and Spalding County line, will have almost unprecedented amenities including the lake with opportunities for fishing, boating and other outdoor activities.

Community life centers around the just-opened 5,000 sq. ft. lodge in Heron Bay, which is also serving as the development’s information center. This building has a great room, meeting rooms, fitness center, library, and children’s play room, and it can be utilized for community gatherings, homeowner association meetings, and other events. A verandah and arbor with an outdoor fireplace overlook the community’s aquatic center which is planned for a Memorial Day weekend opening and which will have heated pools including a junior olympic-sized swimming pool, zero entry pool with splash fountain, water slide and a mushroom forest.

The 18-hole championship golf course, which is being designed, developed and managed by Canongate Golf Clubs, is expected to open in fall of 2004 and will have a clubhouse with a pro shop and grill, a driving range, and a practice range.

Other amenities will consist of lighted tennis courts, children’s play park, sports field, and miles of nature trails which are adjacent to the Cubihatcha Outdoor Center, a county nature trail system and preserve. An additional swim and tennis center is in the planning for the future.

Brandie Corbin, Brayson Homes’ on-site agent in Pinehurst, said that in the neighborhood’s Phase I, which opened with 56 homesites, 21 homes are already under contract and only five basement homes priced in the $180,000s and $190,000s are still available. Five new homes, including both three and four-bedroom plans, are completed and available for immediate occupancy, and the neighborhood’s second model home is under construction and expected to open in May.

Located on Hwy. 155 approximately five miles from Exit 216 of Interstate 75 and just 30 minutes southeast of downtown Atlanta, Heron Bay is situated along the eastern shoreline of the 1,100-acre Cole Reservoir. Pinehurst at Heron Bay, which is in the Henry County portion of the development, is directly across from the community’s amenities area.

Pinehurst will ultimately have a total of 129 homes with prices from $149,000 to the $200,000s.

Brayson Homes is initially making available eight different floor plans in the neighborhood, including some of its signature ranch designs as well as some new two-story designs. Bonus rooms are available in the ranch homes (per plan), and several basement homesites are available.
