Shelley Earldene Green

Shelley Earldene Green, 71, Fayetteville, died April 2, 2004. He was born May 16, 1932 in Fentress County, Tenn. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife, Ardene Shoemaker Green, Fayetteville; a son, Billy, Fayetteville; brothers, David and Shirley, Ohio, Harley, Maryland, and Randall, Tennessee; sisters, Nelly and Janetta, Ohio; grandchildren, Deborah, Fayetteville, Victor, Fairburn, Eric and Michael, both of Griffin; and seven great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

Louise Nix

Louise Nix, 63, Fayetteville, died April 4, 2004. She was born May 31, 1940 in Baltimore, Md. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Stegall officiating. Interment was at Concord Cemetery, College Park. Survivors include her husband, Henry Nix, Fayetteville; a nephew, Wayne Mason, Daytona, Fla.; and nieces, Monica Bryan, Riverdale, and Marlene Beam, Palm Coast, Fla. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.

Daniel James Besse

Daniel James Besse, 31, Peachtree City, died April 5, 2004. He was born Oct. 9, 1972 in Los Alamitos, Calif. He was a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Navy for over four years. He received a ROTC scholarship to Georgia Tech and was graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelors degree. He was employed with Chick-Fil-A. Services were at Heritage Christian Church with the Rev. Greg Marksberry officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife, Amanda Hall Besse, Peachtree City; sons, Andrew James Besse, Nathan Paul Besse, and Luke Aron Besse, all of Peachtree City; parents, Jack and JoAnne Besse, Peachtree City; a brother, Joseph and Rebecca Besse, Peachtree City; a sister, Caroline Wright, California; a brother-in-law, Aron Hall, Peachtree City; and a sister-in-law, Ashley Hall, Peachtree City. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.

Frances Adams Loyd

Frances Adams Loyd, 82, Milledgeville, died April 5,2004. She was born June 20, 1921 in Fayette County, the daughter of John R. and Clara Mae Hammock Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas V. Loyd. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Fayetteville. Survivors include a son, Donald and Janet Loyd, Fayetteville; a daughter, Rebecca and Sonny Cook, Milledgeville; grandchildren, Lisa and Frank Waggoner, Sharpsburg, Beth and Jack Johnson, Fayetteville, and Jason and Abby Loyd, Jacksonville, Fla.; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Geraldine Stinchcomb and Hazel Parrott, both of Fayetteville, and Maxine Law, Pembroke Pines, Fla. Dale C. Henson

Dale C. Henson, 75, Fayetteville, died April 5, 2004. She was born Nov. 22, 1928 in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eldon Henson, a son, James Christopher Henson, a brother, Gene Cody, and sisters, Edna Smith, Pat Taylor, and Katheryn Land. She was a member of McDonough Road Baptist Church, was an avid reader, loved to travel and watch the Braves. Services were at the McDonough Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. David Chancey officiating. Interment was at College Park Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Carol and Kurt Taylor, and Candy and Barry Persons, all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jimmy and Heather Taylor, Michelle Taylor, Chrissy Dale Persons, and Barry Persons Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Alexandria Grace Taylor; and brothers, Norman Cody, and Thomas Cody, both of Hampton, Jerry Cody, Fayetteville, and John Cody, Hapeville. Edna Bailey Kerlin

Edna Bailey Kerlin, 84, Fayetteville, died April 6, 2004. She was born Sept. 12, 1919 in Clayton County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Kerlin Sr., and a brother, David Bailey. She was a member of the Turin Eastern Star, Chapter 489, and was a past Worthy Matron. She was the Grand Representative to the state of Idaho in Eastern Star from the State of Georgia. Services were at the Lisbon Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Harris and the Rev. Wilson Williams officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery, Fayetteville. Survivors include sons, Bobby and Jean S. Kerlin, and Tommy and Gloria Kerlin, all of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Lee Roy and Omie Lee Bailey, and James Bailey, all of Fayetteville; and a sister, Zelma Jones, Fayetteville. James Leonard Chapman

James Leonard “Jim” Chapman Sr., 81, Fayetteville, died April 8, 2004. He was born March 15, 1923 in Harris County, Ga. He was associated with the automobile industry for over 60 years. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with interment at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife, Eva Chapman, Fayetteville; sons, James Leonard and Brenda Chapman Jr., and Jack Lloyd and Regina Chapman, all of Brooks, and John Leslie Chapman, Destin, Fla.; grandchildren, Melonie, Austin, Jenna, and Jacqui; a brother, Gene and Toni Chapman, Largo, Fla.; and a sister, Mildred and Gordon Anderson, Scotch Plains,N. J. Memorial donations may be made to Portsbridge Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
