Former presidential advisor to eye ‘future of economy’ at CofC breakfast

Fayette County residents have an opportunity this week to hear one of the country’s top economists. Dr. Larry Lindsey will speak on “The Future of the Economy” at a breakfast hosted by the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce tomorrow at 8:30 am.

Dr. Lindsey was formerly assistant to President Bush and director of the National Economic Council at the White House.

Dr. Lindsey also served as a governor of the Federal Reserve System from 1991 to 1997, special assistant to the president for domestic economic policy during the first Bush administration, and senior staff economist for tax policy at the Council of Economic Advisers during President Reagan’s first term.

Lindsey has also been mentioned as a possible replacement for Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan.

Dr. Lindsey will speak at the Wyndham Peachtree Hotel and Conference Center in Peachtree City. A continental breakfast will be served starting at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $10 per person for the event.
