PTC Flash hosts weekend meet

The Peachtree City Flash Youth Track Team hosted its invitational track meet last weekend at Riley Field in Peachtree City. Teams from College Park and Henry County participated. Here are some of the results.

8-under girls

• 200-meter dash: Morgan Barkley, first (44.03).

• 400-meter dash: Morgan Barkley, first (1:25.23).

• Running long jump: Morgan Barkley, first (8’2”); Michaela Brown, second.

8-under boys

• 400-meter dash: Sean Ingram, first (1:27.00).

• 800-meter run: Sean Ingram, first (3:14.44); Parker Nail, second (3:48); Nathaniel Highfill (3:57).

• Shot put: Sean Ingram, first (13’2”).

10-under girls

• 800-meter run: Julia Curtis, first (3:13); Mackenzie Nail, second (3:17).

• 1,600-meter run: Alison Wilson, first (7:08); Mackenzie Nail, second (7:11); Julia Curtis, third (7:16); Katie Culpepper, fourth (7:36); Chelsey Bowman, fifth (7:39).

• 4x100-meter relay: Curtis/Culpepper/Nail/Bowman, third.

• 4x400-meter relay: Wilson/Culpepper/Nail/Curtis, third.

• Running long jump: Haley Smith, first.

• Shot put: Alison Wilson, second.

10-under boys

• 1,600-meter run: Ryan Hamill, second (6:21); Ian Roberts, third (6:47).

12-under girls

• 800-meter run: Rita Steiger, third (3:24).

• 1,600-meter run: Rita Steiger, first (7:45).

12-under boys

• 400-meter dash: Dylan Boyce, first (1:06).

• 800-meter run: Dylan Boyce, first (2:43); Zachary Laskey, second (2:44); David Hewson, third (2:56); Austin Vorwald, fourth (3:00); DJ Wigner, fifth (3:16); Ryan Kozusko, sixth (3:25).

• 1,600-meter run: Zachary Laskey, first (5:51); Austin Vorwald, second (6:44).

• 4x100-meter relay: Laskey/Hewson/Vorwald/Boyce, second (6:10).

• 4x400-meter relay: Laskey/Hewson/Vorwald/Boyce, third.

• High jump: Austin Vorwald, first; David Hewson, second.

• Running long jump: Zachary Laskey, second.

• Standing long jump: Dylan Boyce, second.

• Softball throw: Randon Ruff, first; Matthew Donahue, second.

14-under girls

• 1,600-meter run: Mary Roberts, first (5:55).

The Flash’s next meet is April 17 against College Park, Clayton County and Henry County. The Flash will then compete April 24 in a district meet to qualify athletes for the GRPA state meet May 8 in Augusta

The Flash will also begin signups for the USATF summer track and field season in Early April. The summer season will start in early May and finish with the Junior Olympics in August.
