Home show coming to Atlanta this month

The 26th Annual Spring Atlanta Home Show is scheduled for April 15-18 at the Georgia World Congress Center in the new C Building.

Here’s a sample of what’s happening:

• Carson Kressley of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” the fashion savant of the Fab Five, is appearing Sunday, April 18, on the Main Stage. He’ll sign autographs, too.

• Clark Howard, Atlanta’s own consumer advisor, appearing Saturday, April 17, on the Main Stage. He’ll answer questions and sign his books.

• All the latest products and ideas for your home at Georgia’s largest home show.

• EarthCraft Bungalow, a full-scale home inside the show built by Crestline Homes. Gather ideas on environmental efficiency from EarthCraft.

• Win the X-treme Closet, including cabinets and shelving, a flat paneled TV, refrigerator, stained glass closet door, and lounge chairs. All from Space Station Closet and Closet Dreams. Valued over $10,000.

• Seminars from the National Association of Professional Organizers will have visitors heading in the right direction to cut the clutter and stay organized.

• Win a Coffee School Party for you and five friends and coffee for a year. Starbucks Café offers coffee samples. Starbucks will give a gift to the first 100 people in the show each day.

• Lap of Luxury, in-home dog houses built by Atlanta Designers and National Association of the Remodeling Industry. Dog homes will be auctioned to benefit the Atlanta Humane Society.

• Valuable seminars on the Main Stage include “Landscape Roundtable” seminar hosted by Eric King of Piedmont Landscape, “Decorating Trends” by Beverly Hall Furniture Galleries, “Cooking With Coffee” by Alan Richardson of Starbucks, and “A Guide to a Great Lawn” by Walter Reeves, just to name a few.

The show is open noon-6 p.m. Thursday, April 15; noon-8 p.m. Friday, April 16; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, April 17; and noon-6 p.m. Sunday, April 18.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under are admitted free.
