An early-rising armed robber hit the Fayetteville Burger King Sunday morning, catching the store manager by surprise, police said.

Fayetteville police are looking for anyone who might have been in the area between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. to call Det. Melissa Peacock at 770-461-4441. A $500 reward is being offered by the Burger King Corporation for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible, police said.

The suspect, described as a black male wearing a dark shirt and dark pants, approached the store manager while he was outside and forced him into the store, police said. The suspect threatened the manager and other employees with a weapon but did not show the weapon, police said.

Store employees were forced into the cooler while the store was robbed, but no one was injured, police said.
