An alert police officer on patrol through the Hobby Lobby parking lot Tuesday night caught a child molestation suspect with his pants down in a parked car, so to speak, police said.

Brandin Orr, 22, of Rex, was spotted in his vehicle at the store’s parking lot by Fayetteville Police Officer David Cagle, who noticied something suspicious and stopped to investigate, police said.

The victim, a 13-year-old Clayton County girl, was in the car and Orr was “exposed,” according to Lt. Beverly Trainor of the Fayetteville Police Department.

Orr had developed a “relationship” with the girl after meeting her at a a commercial bus stop, Trainor said.

According to warrants for his arrest, Orr removed his pants and underwear, exposing himself to the girl “with the intent of having sexual intercourse.”

Orr is charged with felony counts of statutory rape, enticing a child for indecent purposes and child molestation.

Fayette County Magistrate Robert A. Ruppenthal denied a request for bond, meaning Orr will remain in jail at least until another court hearing is held to determine if the evidence is sufficient to carry the case to trial.
