Traffic stops lead to big drug charges in PTC By JOHN MUNFORD Peachtree City police have arrested two more suspects on drug distribution charges. Travis Alexander, 24, of Senoia was arrested in the Wynnmeade subdivision Monday after officers stopped him for traffic violations, police said. Alexander had a substantial amount of crack cocaine and marijuana in his vehicle at the time, police said. Alexander was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance (suspected crack cocaine), possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), improper backing and improper stopping. Devon Fernandez, 20, was arrested at a separate traffic stop last week when officers noticed shotgun slugs inside the vehicle, police said. Fernandez was found with numerous individually wrapped bags of suspected marijuana, police said. Fernandez was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and driving under the influence. The arrests come days after police charged a Peachtree City mother for trafficking methamphetamine and three residents in a rented house in the Wynnmeade subdivision for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Police Chief James Murray has said he wants drug dealers to know they will face full prosecution under the law if they choose to peddle their wares in Peachtree City.
