A Peachtree City woman whose house was the center of drug activity, police say, was arrested Tuesday for trafficking methamphetamine.

Laura Walden, 34, was arrested after a search warrant was executed on her house at 307 Park Leaf in the Center Green subdivision, police said. A “substantial amount” of methamphetamine was discovered in the house, including some in the children’s bedrooms, police said.

Walden also faces charges of cruelty to children in the first degree, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana (less than one ounce).

Police said they have arrested “numerous” suspects over the past month stemming from activity at Walden’s home, with similar charges as those lodged against her. Other charges those suspects were arrested for include possession of carisoprodol and possession of schedule II and schedule IV drugs, police said.

The home, which was rented, is owned by persons who live in Ohio, police said. The department is attempting to contact those homeowners to discuss the issue.

When the search warrant was served, another person was arrested: William Henson, 36, of Brooks for possession of marijuana (less than one ounce).

These arrests come on the heels of three suspects arrested last Friday at a home in the Wynnmeade subdivision where police allege drug sales were taking place. Jesse Carl Hardy, 36, Viki Hardy, 38 and Kierra Kenice Florence, 17, all lived at 183 Wynnmeade Parkway and were arrested for felony counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray said arrests are forthcoming in other cases being investigated in other areas of the city.
