| Wednesday, March 10, 2004 Prudential Georgia Realty posts record sales year Prudential Georgia Realty posted another record year in home sales for 2003, exceeding $1.8 billion in sales and posting 8,000 closed transactions. The company’s average sales price per home was $225,000. “Metro Atlanta has one of the most competitive real estate and home building markets in the country,” said Prudential Georgia Realty president and CEO Dan Forsman. ”To consistently post record numbers year after year is a tribute to the knowledge, diligence and professionalism of our Realtors. This company has increased its sales every year since its formation in 1963.” Prudential Georgia Realty is one of the largest real estate companies in metro Atlanta. According to a ranking compiled by Realtor Magazine, the real estate firm is one of the top 100 real estate companies in the United States, placing 53rd for 2002 sales volume. The company also crossed the 1,000-agent mark for the first time, ending 2003 with 1,012 sales associates. To keep pace with expanding office rosters and the broadening circle that is considered metro Atlanta, the company is looking into the possibility of additional locations. In 2003, for example, the company established an office about an hour and a half northeast of Atlanta in Jackson County. It also relocated its Sandy Springs office to the high traffic intersection of Abernathy and Roswell Road and opened a larger location in Canton on Riverstone Parkway. With the recovering economy and mortgage rates remaining low, Forsman sees 2004 as one full of possibilities and opportunities. According to Forsman, “The American dream of home ownership is still alive and well in metro Atlanta.” He sites a recent report released by the National Association of Realtors’ chief economist, David Lereah, to support his claim. The report mentions nearly 6.07 million existing home sales occurred in 2003, a new record that eclipsed the 2002 figures by 9.1 percent.
