Fayette Realtors join Collins campaign

Rep. Mac Collins, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, announced recently that Fayette County realtors Josh Bonner, Michael Amos and Linda Amos have endorsed his campaign by joining the Realtors for Collins Statewide Steering Committee.

In a letter distributed to thousands of Georgia realtors, the Realtors for Collins Steering Committee said, “Mac Collins knows the challenges of meeting a payroll, complying with government regulations and paying taxes. He has served as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, working hard to reduce taxes on individuals and businesses. Mac understands the issues that are important to our profession and is the most conservative candidate in this race, as his record proves.”

“This groundswell of support from Josh, Michael, Linda and other Georgia realtors for Mac Collins is yet another indication that Georgians want a true conservative straight-talker for their next U.S. Senator and not someone who says one thing and does another,” said Collins. “My message of straight talk, hard work and common sense conservative values wins every day with Georgia voters. This race will be won from the grassroots up and my message continues to erode the base of my opponent.”

Collins’ record of helping the real estate industry includes:

• Reducing individual capital gains tax rates.

• Eliminating death and gift taxes.

• Providing homeowners a tax exclusion for the sale of their primary residence.

• Providing a 50 percent depreciation deduction for leasehold improvements.

• Reducing the depreciation time for leasehold improvements.

• Prohibiting large banking conglomerates from getting into the real estate business.

• Promoting necessary tort reform.

Realtors for Collins Statewide Steering Committee includes:

• From Coweta County, Terri Barnes, Chip Barron, Frank Barron, Lynn H. Blackburn, Robert M. Blackburn, Laura Crockarel and Tony Owens.

• From Fayette County, Linda Amos, Michael Amos, Bill Bonner and Josh Bonner.

• From Gwinnett County, T.J. Connolly, Ed O'Connor, Terry Ross, LaDonna Swinwood and Allison Wilkerson.

• From Hart County, Tom Coley.

• From Henry County, Ben Carmichael, James Stewart and Jim White.

• From Muscogee County, Robert H. Rowe.

Collins has earned the support of the following six conservative organizations: Traditional Values PAC, 60 Plus Association, Free Congress PAC, Citizens United Political Victory Fund, American Conservative Union PAC and the Concerned Women PAC.

Since entering the race in September, Mac has earned the support of former Congressman and Secretary of the Army Howard “Bo” Callaway, who serves as Chairman of the Collins for Senate campaign. Collins has also earned the support of numerous conservative leaders from across the state including many long-time sheriffs, state legislators and local business leaders.

Collins is currently serving his 6th term in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Middle Georgia. He is traveling the state of Georgia with a conservative, issues-oriented campaign based on limited government, lower taxes, tort reform and local control of issues.
