Art for AIDS deadline nears

Artists and collectors are invited to contribute their works to the seventh Annual “Art for AIDS” fundraising auction to help homeless people living with HIV/AIDS.

March 19 is the deadline to donate paintings, sketches, sculpture, mosaics, masks, photographs and other fine art items. Art lovers will bid on the creations in the silent auction March 25 in the Fulton County Government Center Atrium, 141 Pryor Street, SW, Atlanta. Art by the men of Fulton County’s Jefferson Place homeless program will also be featured.

This is the final year of the event, which benefits AIDAtlanta’s Street Home Program for more than 400 persons annually. Proceeds help fund housing, meals, substance abuse counseling, employment and literacy training, and other services.

The auction has collected more than $150,000 over the years.

Art for AIDS is presented by AIDAtlanta and the employees of the Fulton County Human Services Department.
