Red Cross hosts CPR classes Saturday at FCHS Registrations are still being accepted for those wanting to learn adult CPR at a day-long event at Fayette County High School Saturday. The American Red Cross will hold adult CPR classes with start times between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The $10 registration fee includes a four-hour training class, certification upon passing the test, emergency preparedness information and demonstration of an Automated External Defibrillator. Normally, the adult CPR class costs $65. Pre-registration is required to lock in a particular class time, officials said. Walk-ins will be accepted on a limited basis with cash payment as space allows. To pre-register, call 1-800-733-2767 with a debit or credit card handy for payment. After hours messages can be left, with someone returning your call the next business day, organizers said. CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is used to help cardiac arrest victims so oxygenated blood can circulate to vital organs such as the brain and heart. Participants are urged to wear loose-fitting clothing. No childcare is available. The class is suitable for children ages 12 and up. Anyone wishing to volunteer at CPR Saturday should call 404-575-3195 for more information.
