It’s Publix, Wendy’s and now Wachovia Bank.

With the approval of the latter, all three are on their way to Summit Point, the shopping center underway on Fayetteville’s southside.

The Wachovia branch will be one of the eight outparcels along Ga. Highway 85 south. The 1.64-acre site will have a shared driveway with the GTO’s Drive-In restaurant on one side and an entry drive into the shopping center on its other side.

Plans for the 4,025 sq. ft. building were approved by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission at its regular meeting Tuesday night.

The bank’s drive through will have five lanes including one with an ATM and night deposit.

The commission also approved a preliminary plat for the Heaton Lakes subdivision off Ga. Highway 92 on White Road. The 15.77-acre site will be developed with more open space, including two lakes that will be the feature at the entrance to the subdivision.

The developer has also committed to “over-attain” for drainage issues because of stormwater drainage problems in the area.
