Tyrone rec staffer leaves By LINDSAY BIANCHI Tyrone is looking for a new recreation coordinator. According to Town Manager Barry Amos, Kim Stevens, who has been the coordinator for five years, stepped down earlier this month to pursue other employment interests. Currently there is no one covering the posititon, but Amos said the city plans to advertize for a replacement in the coming months. Beth Higbee, president of the towns baseball association, was present at last weeks meeting to hammer out differences of opinion before the towns baseball season begins. The town is requesting the association sign an agreement to use the towns parks, but Higbee said there were several issues that needed to be addressed. Councilman Lyn Redwood said many of the issues looked minor to hear and suggested the towns attorney meet with the baseball associations attorney, Rick Lindsey. The first game is scheduled for March 20. Higbee requested that a parks and recreation advisory board be created to help solve some of the problems involved with the association. Attorneys for Tyrone and the Baseball Association agreed to meet this week to resolve the issue before the opening game.
