New Falcon Field manager may be named March 10

Now that the list has been whittled down to three candidates, the Peachtree City Airport Authority may vote next month on a new airport manager for Falcon Field.

Chairwoman Cathy Nelmes said she hopes to have a vote on the matter at the authority’s regular meeting Wednesday, March 10.

“They’re all strong candidates,” Nelmes said.

Nelmes also said the authority has received numerous positive remarks about the work of Drew Bolton, who has served as interim manager since the negotiated resignation of former airport manager Jim Savage. Bolton, who has served as the airport’s assistant manager, did not make the cut of the final three candidates, but he did make the authority’s top six list, Nelmes noted.

The final three candidates identified by the authority are:

• Tim E. Whitman of Lawrenceville, an airport consultant who has previously served as regional director for American Airports Corporation.

• Robert Stapleton of Griffin, manager of the Griffin-Spalding Airport.

• John W. Crosby of Blue Ridge, former aviation director for Concord, N.C., who previously served as assistant airport director of DeKalb Peachtree Airport in Atlanta.
