Black history celebrated at senior centers

The H.J.C. Bowden Senior Multipurpose Facility in East Point will host a workshop and arts presentation in celebration of Black History Month.

• “Memory is Power,” a film-based discussion on African-American history and culture, will be held Tuesday and Thursday, February 24 and 26, 10 a.m.-noon.

• Creations by a quilting class, and an African dance by instructor Celeste Anthony and other performers, will be presented Thursday, February 26, 10:30 a.m.-noon.

Operated by the Fulton County Human Services Department’s Office of Aging, the Bowden Senior Facility offers therapeutic nutritional, educational, fitness and social programs that provide a focal point of daily activity for seniors age 55 and older.
