Obituaries

Darius J. Mikulskis

Darius J. Mikulskis, 45, Tyrone, died Feb. 2, 2004. He was born June 30, 1958 in Littleton, N. Y. He was an avid outdoorsman, writer, inventor, and a member of MENSA. He was an active member of the Republican Party. Services were at St. George Catholic Church, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Father Dan Fleming officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Debi Mikulskis, Tyrone; children, Anthony Mikulskis, and Matt Mikulskis, both of Tyrone; parents, Al and Garazine Mikulskis, Sharpsburg; a brother, Matt Mikulskis, Sharpsburg; and a sister, Rasa Starkey, Houston, Texas. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.

Ralph D. Rainwater Sr.

Ralph D. Rainwater Sr., Master Sergeant, retired, 69, Newnan, died Feb. 5, 2004. He was born May 1, 1934 in Smyrna to the late Ethan and Ethyl Rainwater. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Massey Rainwater in 1989. They married in 1957. He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, and a grandson, Aaron. He joined the United States Air Force in 1954 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the early days of the Cold War and was stationed around the world. He retired highly decorated and at one of the highest enlisted ranks achievable in the Air Force. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with a full Air Force Honor Guard with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include his wife Margaret, whom he married in 1990; children, Ralph Rainwater Jr., Marietta, Jodi Moon, Bremen, Christopher Rainwater, Blakely, Alex Rainwater, Carrollton, Matthew Rainwater, El Cajon, Calif, Jason Harper, and Justin Harper, both of Newnan; grandchildren, Joseph, Chris, Yvonne, Adri, Quentin, Kayla, Rachel, and Nicholas; and one brother. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Henry G. Hemmings

Henry G. Hemmings, 58, died Feb. 6, 2004. He was born March 9, 1945 in Newnan. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Eley officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include a son, Ronald and Kay Hemmings Sr.; grandchildren, Ronald Hemmings Jr., Jonathon and Crystal Hemmings; a cousin; Linda Bennett; step-children, Bryan Lisa Wheatly, Eric and Elaine Wheatly, and Sherry Edwards; and step-grandchildren, Sara, Alex, and Carson Wheatly, Matthew Swartz, Chris, Amanda, and Mirssa. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Dr. E. Neal Gunby

Dr. E. Neal Gunby, 62, Sharpsburg, died Feb. 7, 2004. He was born Oct. 16, 1941 in Decatur. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edwin Gunby. He was a retired neurosurgeon and a colonel in the United States Army. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Parrish and the Rev. Terry Thompkins officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include his mother, Bernice Wright Gunby, Newnan; and a brother, William W. Gunby, Palm City, Fla. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Chloe Jackson Williamson

Chloe Jackson Williamson, 84, Newnan, died Feb. 8, 2004. She was born May 22, 1919, the daughter of Benjamin and Hattie “Nutt” Jackson. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include daughters, Diane W. and Bob Gordon, Griffin, Wanda Millians, Newnan, and Gail and Duane Cunningham, Sharpsburg; brothers, Sydney Jackson, Cairo, and Cohen Jackson, Rome; a sister, Clyde Pittman, Atlanta; and five grandchildren. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Keturah Hensler

Keturah Hensler, 94, Senoia, died Feb. 10, 2004. She was born Aug. 19, 1909, the daughter of Lester Bartell and Laura Edinger Kinney. She was a World War II Navy nurse, served in the South Pacific from 1944 to 1945. She served in Fleet Hospitals 107 and 108. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Patton officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Kay H. Wieringa, Senoia; a grandson, Glenn Wieringa, Senoia; a granddaughter, Kathy Gibson, Canton; and a niece, Mary Smith, Libby, Montana. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Lillie Mae Bradberry

Lillie Mae Bradberry, 96, Senoia, died Feb. 11, 2004. She was born Sept. 13, 1907 in Hall County. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carlton Bradberry. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Ronald Whitlock officiating. Interment was at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone. Survivors include daughters, Mildred Lee Reynolds, Atlanta, and Betty W. Vidos, Senoia; a stepson, Thomas James Bradberry, Lithonia; step-daughters, Hattie Lou Corbett, and Lynn Smith; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

James Harrison Baggarly Jr.

James Harrison Baggarly Jr., 70, Sharpsburg, died Feb. 13, 2004. He was born Nov. 23, 1933 in Charlotte, N.C., the son of James Harrison and Rubye Rives Baggarly. He graduated from Newnan High School and served in the United States Army for 3 years. He had attended Georgia Tech, and was a 28-year employee of Bearings & Drives, Inc. He was a member of the Senoia United Methodist Church, the Senoia Lions Club, and was the treasurer of the Senoia Downtown Development Authority. He was on the board of directors of Farmers & Merchants Bank. Services were at the Senoia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Davidson, the Rev. Dan McFarland, and the Rev. Don Welch officiating. Interment was at Senoia City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Kelly Baggarly, Sharpsburg; sons, James Harrison Baggarly III, Senoia, and Todd Ayers Baggarly, Atlanta; and a granddaughter, Jesse Hayden Baggarly, Senoia. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
