New real estate company formed

Two familiar names in Coweta County real estate have teamed to form a new company, Bowers & Burns, which will concentrate on the education of sellers and buyers on the best potential for their land.

Sam Bowers and Buddy Burns say their knowledge of the market and of city and county statutes help provide their clients the guidance they may need to make an informed decision.

“Our objective is to identify the properties’ highest and best usage, whether that is recreation, high-density development or farming,” said Bowers, an accredited land consultant who is president and broker of the company. Burns will serve as the venture’s vice-president.

Bowers, a lifelong resident of Coweta County, graduated from Newnan High School and attended both Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia, where he studied agricultural economics. He has more than 25 years of experience in farming and agriculture and more than 16 years of experience in real estate. His areas of expertise include farm and timber land, recreational and transitional land, and equestrian properties. Bowers also provides clients with up-to-date facts about buying and selling, along with data about soils, timber and the intricacies of current federal laws. He can assist buyers and sellers in such areas as finance, leasing and land management.

Burns, another longtime Newnan resident, is a graduate of The Heritage School and the University of Georgia, where he studied timber management and wildlife biology. His real estate experience covers all aspects from residential to commercial, and he works mainly with land sales and development. His familiarity with city and county ordinances gives him the ability to better help his clients find maximum return on their properties. Burns also considers personal relationships a large part of his career.

“I really enjoy working with people,” he said.

Bowers and Burns are actively involved in professional and community endeavors. Both men are lifetime members of the Million Dollar Club. Bowers serves on the Board of Directors of the Newnan-Coweta Board of Realtors, of which Burns also is a member.

Bowers is president of the Georgia chapter of the Realtors Land Institute, a member of the Board of Directors for Coweta County Farm Bureau and a past president of the Coweta Cattleman’s Association. Burns is a Leadership Coweta graduate and past president of Newnan-Coweta Ducks Unlimited, as well as a youth baseball coach.

Bowers is married to the former Dale Hammond of Savannah. They have two daughters, Jessie, 6, and Emily, 2. Burns is married to the former Annette Mann of Ft. Worth, Texas and they are the parents of four sons: Matthew, 6; McCullogh, 5; Hays, 4, and Branch, 2.
