The Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce is offering four post-secondary scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Each of the scholarships will be awarded to a resident of Coweta County or a student attending school in Coweta County, who will be entering post-secondary education in the year 2004.

To apply for these scholarships, the student must submit the following to the Chamber, before 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 31:

• A one-page essay entitled “Making A Difference.” The essay should address

how the student has made a difference in his or her school or community; and,

how the receipt of this scholarship will help make a difference in the student achieving his or her goals.

• A one-page cover sheet stating the student’s name, address, phone number, grade point average and rank in class, as applicable, extracurricular activities and post-secondary institutions where the student has been accepted or hopes to be accepted.

Any other pages submitted will be discarded.

After an initial screening of the applications, the finalists for the scholarships will be notified and then interviewed by one or more members of the Chamber’s Workforce Development Committee.

Scholarship checks will be payable jointly to the recipient and a post-secondary institution.

Any inquiries should be directed to the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce. All applications should be delivered or mailed to Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce, Attn: Workforce Development Committee, 23 Bullsboro Drive, Newnan, GA 30263.
