Wednesday, February 11, 2004 McKinney named Builder of the Year Mac McKinney of McKinney Builders Inc. is the 2003 Builder of the Year for the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia. McKinney has been building homes since 1972. He first started building in the College Park area, then built in Union City. Now based in Newnan, McKinney Builders primarily builds custom homes in Coweta and Fayette Counties and has also built in Troup and Henry Counties. Currently the president of the Home Builders of Midwest Georgia, McKinney is one of 100 builders chosen for the Southern Living Custom Home Program, and he is a member of the program’s board of directors. He lives in Newnan with his wife Julie and their two children, Austin and Evan, and he also has two grown children, Casey and Grier. The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia serves builders in Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Meriwether, Heard, Pike, Upson, Lamar, Butts and Jasper counties.
