Absentee voting

Voters have many ways to cast ballots for the March 2, 2004, Presidential Preference Primary Election and Special State Flag Referendum: absentee by mail, absentee in-person, and at the polls on election day.

 • Vote absentee by mail

Citizens unable to vote in-person on March 2 may fax or mail a written request for an absentee ballot. Voters must give a reason for their request, such as away from the precinct on election day, being an election official or public servant, having a physical disability, observing a religious holiday, or being age 75 or older.

The request letter needs to include the name and date of the election, voter’s name, address as registered, and date of birth. Also, include the address where the ballot is to be mailed, daytime phone number and voter’s signature.

If the request is made by a relative, the relative must sign the request and state the relationship to the voter.

The absentee ballot request should be sent to: Fulton County Voter Registration, Attn: Absentee Ballot, 141 Pryor St., SW, Suite 4064, Atlanta, GA 30303. The fax number is 404-730-8839.

Applications for absentee ballots are also available on the County’s website, www.myfultoncountyga.us. Users should go to “forms” under the Department of Registrations and Elections.
