Grading forums set

The Fulton County Board of Education will hold community forums in February to gather input on the school system’s grading and reporting procedures. All Fulton County staff and parents are encouraged to participate.

Each forum includes an overview of the current policy followed by small group sessions for participants to discuss issues such as report cards, determination of grades, grading scale, recovering from failing grades, honors points and grade point averages.

Separate sessions are scheduled for school system staff and parents in order to obtain maximum input. Staff sessions will be held 4:30 6:30 p.m. Community sessions are 7 p.m. 9 p.m.

• February 18-Paul D. West Middle School, 2376 Headland Drive, East Point

• February 19-Liberty Point Elementary School, 9000 High Point Road, Union City

Summaries of the forum discussions will be posted on the school system’s web site, www.fultonschools.org, and additional opportunity for feedback will be provided through an on-line survey. The board will consider the community and staff input prior to revising the grading and reporting policies and procedures.
