Cash, in-kind donations urgently needed for special baseball field

Although organizers of the Fayette Field of Hope are looking particularly for cash donations to finish the project, there are a few projects where in-kind donations could help the cause, organizers say.

Specifically needed for the all-accessible baseball field are landscaping with trees and shrubs, an irrigation and sprinkler system, bleachers and foul ball poles, flooring and bathroom partitions.

The field, which features a rubberized surface so players using walkers and wheelchairs can play alongside other children, is scheduled to open April 17, but fund-raising delays are threatening to delay the opening.

Roughly $106,000 is needed to finish off the field.

To arrange donation of in-kind products and services, contact Nick Harris at 770-486-9277. Donations may be mailed to the Bank of Georgia at 100 Westpark Drive, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Checks should be made payable to Fayette Field of Hope.

Donors may also request a receipt for tax purposes since the Fayette Field of Hope is a recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit.
