Bullard now in Rockdale

Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty, the largest Coldwell Banker franchise in Georgia, has entered the Rockdale County market with the purchase of the Conyers office of Coldwell Banker Gerri Murphy Realty.

Under terms of the transaction, which was announced Dec. 30 to the staffs of both companies, Gerri Murphy will have an ongoing role in Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty’s newly-acquired Conyers/Rockdale county office. Coldwell Banker Gerri Murphy Realty has its headquarters in Covington, and that office will continue to be owned and operated by Gerri Murphy.

With the addition of the Conyers/Rockdale County office, which will remain at 1070 Iris Dr. SW, Coldwell Banker Bullard will expand to eight locations and will reach its goal of 300 agents companywide by early in 2004.

Coldwell Banker Gerri Murphy Realty, which was founded as Gerri Murphy Realty in 1992 and became a Coldwell Banker franchise in 1996, has been a leader in the Rockdale County home sales market. Murphy said that in making the decision to sell the Conyers office, she felt that the Bullard organization’s longtime position as a new home, resale and commercial market leader in the Atlanta area, plus Bullard’s strong relocation, builder services, real estate owned, property management, and marketing will offer significant benefits for the agents and customers of the Conyers/Rockdale county office.

“I have high regard for Steve Bullard and his organization, and I am sold on the system and agent services provided by Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation,” she said.

Rick Schlosser, who has been director of Coldwell Banker Bullard’s Builder Services Division, will be the broker for the Conyers/Rockdale County office. He began his real estate career in Boston more than 25 years ago, then came to the Atlanta area in 1977 as sales and marketing manager for Rivermont, an Equitable Life Assurance-owned country club community in North Fulton County. More recently, he has headed sales and marketing for Peachtree City Marketing Group and Peachtree City Development Corp., working in the Peachtree City market for 11 years, and he served as vice president of sales and marketing for Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Henry County.

The oldest and largest real estate company headquartered in the Metro South area of Atlanta, Coldwell Banker Bullard has its headquarters in Jonesboro, and other offices in Griffin, McDonough, Jackson, Peachtree City and Newnan. The company, founded in 1956 by the late Cliff Bullard, worked out a franchise agreement with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation a few years ago. Current President and owner Steve Bullard has been with the company for more than 30 years.

The company was number one in Closed Adjusted Gross Commission Income in Georgia for Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation (Coldwell Banker) in 2002 and has been named to Coldwell Banker’s prestigious Chairman’s Circle for the past five years. In addition, the company was listed at No. 15 on the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s most recent ranking of “Atlanta’s Top 25 Residential Real Estate Companies.”
