Holloway to speak at Christ the King Sunday

The Most Rev. John W. Holloway, bishop of the Diocese of Georgia, will speak this Sunday during the 10 a.m. services of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church. Holloway will administer the Sacrament of Holy Communion and will install Fr. Paul Massey of Peachtree City as curate (associate pastor) at Christ the King.

Holloway received his bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State College and his master of divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in 1996.

Christ the King church began in 1996 with 19 people meeting in a home in Sharpsburg. The growing congregation quickly moved into the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, where services were held for six years.

In November of 2002, the congregation moved into new facilities on 12 acres of land in Coweta County where it has grown to more than 200 members. The church started a mission congregation, St. Matthew’s in Hogansville, and is planning to plant another sister congregation, The Church of the Holy Cross, in Fayette County during 2004.

Christ the King is at 4881 Ga. Highway 34 east, between Peachtree City and Newnan. The pastor is Fr. David Epps. For more information, contact the church office, 770-252-2428.
