Wedding And Engagement Announcements Long-Register Deborah Long of Fayetteville and Evans Long (Chip) of Carrollton announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Virginia Long, to Brian Douglas Register, son of Mr, and Mrs. Douglas Register of Cary, N.C. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Dick and Virginia Hackney and the late Evans and Pauline Long, all of Dalton. She is a 1999 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in logistics and transportation. She currently is employed in operations management with McKesson Corporation in Duluth. The groom-elect is the grandson of Ralph and Julia Reed of Elkin, N.C. and Sadie Register of Raleigh, N.C., and the late George Register. He is a 1999 graduate of Houston High School in Collierville, Tenn., and a 2003 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in marketing.
