Holiday celebrations at Nolan Elem.

Love T. Nolan Elementary School has celebrated the holidays with a traditional feast, a festive musical performance, and patriotic decorations.

The twentieth annual “Linen and Lace” luncheon was Dec. 16. Parents and friends were invited to join the students for this annual event. The cafeteria was beautifully decorated with twinkling lights and holiday centerpieces and linens on each table. Students practiced their best manners in greeting guests and enjoying their meal.

That same evening, students performed “December in Our Town” for the community. As the student actors went around their town, they observed the variety of ways in which different religions and cultures celebrate the winter holidays. The chorus performed songs of Hanukkah, Posada, Kwanzaa, and Christmas.

Decorations of red, white, and blue adorn the trees in the lobby and cafeteria and each classroom door. Patriotic ornaments were made by the students.

The theme of “Hope, Peace, and Happiness Around the World” as well as the patriotic colors remind us of the many men and women working to restore peace and goodwill around the world.
