Federal grant to help drug fight in Fairburn

The Lightning community in Fairburn is once again receiving attention from the city. A nearly $60,000 federal grant, which will be used to install surveillance cameras in the neighborhood's park area, was approved last week.

“There is a drug problem in Lightning.” said city administrator Jim Williams. “We’ve been making some progress. We think the cameras will help to control the drug trafficking.”

The city is just waiting for the check before it begins installation of the surveillance devices. The goal is to make the park and neighborhood safer for those who live there.
