Duncan Park to be filled with the sounds of games this spring By LINDSAY BIANCHI It may be officially winter, but Fairburn has its mind on baseball. The Fairburn Little League will be starting up again next year at Duncan Park. Registration is Jan. 17 at City Hall. Getting this program off the ground will take a team of volunteers whose love and knowledge of the game are sure to make it a success. Coaches, certified umpires, team moms and dads, scoreboard officials and game announcers are all asked to join in the spring and summer program. Baseball, softball and T-ball are being planned to compete with other regional programs. Girls' softball will be included as well, making the park activity a great all-around family experience. The season is set to be up to bat April 1. Broadcasts of the events are planned to run on local cable channels. Everyone in the Fairburn area
is invited to be a part of the excitement. To find out more about volunteering
or signing up players contact Melody Barnes, program coordinator, at 770-964-2244.
