Man stabbed in back three times during family altercation at F’ville apartments

A Fayetteville woman was arrested for stabbing her sister and brother and law with a knife at Weatherly Walk Apartments early Saturday morning, police said.

Quinqoia Burkes, 17, was arrested for two counts of felony aggravated assault and four counts of cruelty to children in the second degree. The latter charges were because four children under the age of 18 witnessed the assaults, police said.

Another person, a juvenile boy, was arrested for simple battery and four counts of cruelty to children in the second degree, police said.

The dispute began when Burkes’ brother-in-law, Curtis Thomas, asked Burkes’ boyfriend to leave Thomas’s apartment, police said.

Thomas was stabbed three times in the back during the altercation and his wife, Burkes’ sister Keisha Jones, was stabbed in the arm, according to reports.
